See, this is what I mean when I talk about Finn being the first healthy relationship Seth had in years after the Authority fucked him up.
They are friendly by this moment but not…super close yet. They just tagged together in a match everyone thought was going to be a disaster.
It wasn’t.
It wasn’t because their style matches perfectly, because Finn brings out Seth’s competitive side but not the unhealthy, all consuming one. The “Everything you can do I can do better” one, the playful one.
Seth steals the last tag from Finn after an exhilarating match. A match where Seth laughs and shows off.
It’s a test. It’s a dare. A “What are you going to do about that?” type of challenge.
Seth wants to see just how far he’s going to go before Finn snaps. Before Finn yells. Before Finn attacks and betrays. Cause everyone does it, right? That’s what he’s been taught.
But Finn doesn’t. Finn just looks at him, fondness admiration softening his features. He applauds Seth’s way of thinking.
And all the tension in Seth’s face suddenly disappears.
Oh, he thinks.
Oh, maybe…this can work.
And it does. Week after week after this moment.
Because Finn thinks that Seth’s hard edges are what makes him the way he is.

I hate this idea people have that if a parent walks in and turns off the tv while their kids are watching or playing something it’s evidence of some unhealthy attachment or addiction to technology if they get pissed off. If you walk up and slap a book out of my hand while I’m reading I’m going to have the same reaction, fuck off you’re not making some great social commentary you’re just being an ass hole.
If you slap a sandwich out of my hands and I get pissed it doesn’t mean I’m addicted to eating it just means I was enjoying something and then you had to be an asshole lmao
